While still on a misson to upgrade both my room and my wardrobe ive been researching a lot of trends and prints that inspire me. Im slightly obsessive compulsive so i make list of everything all day long. Ive decided to share what im dying to buy this fall with you! I take down prices of each item and map out when ill be able to buy it without going broke. I had a dream i walked into a high fashion store and found everything under 10 dollars. you can imagine my pain when i woke up to find it was only a dream. Anyway have a wonderful day!

As i was reading Octobers issue of Teen Vogue i came across a article on Betsey Johnson, the lovely lady responsible for my prom dress (shown above), who has just launched her Pink Patch line which is a much more affordable line for girls like me who shop on a budget. love in the afternoon

One of my favorite icons of all time has to be Audrey Hepburn. Love her style! She always manages to look simple and classic with bold accessories. One of my favorite films with her would have to be Love in the Afternoon. If you haven't seem this movie I urge you to rent it or watch it on Netflix. Its a classic love story between two unexpected characters. The young daughter of a private detective, Ariane Chavasse (Audrey Hepburn), falls in love with the scandalous Frank Flannagan (Gary Cooper). Shes instantly enchanted by him and must play at his own game in order to win his love. It is truly a classic. Her wardrobe in this film can be seen in today's fashion trends, from her plaid cropped pants to her elegant day dresses. Her look will forever be timeless.

TGIF: week inspirations

I look at a lot of different blogs just to get inspired with both outfits and decorating ideas. Ive even been trying new recipes from some of the amazing blogs Ive viewed. Whenever i feel inspired by something i always save the picture. Ive only recently started taking the time out to work on my wardrobe and by no means am i a trendsetter. Ive always admired and been very interested in the fashion industry and hopefully ill be able to be a part of it once i get the hang of what looks good on me. Happy Sunday!

I love Sundays. It might be my imagination but they always manage to promise better weather than the previous days of the week. The slow pace, relax feeling i get on Sundays always helps rejuvenate my mood. I woke up this morning and ironed wrinkled laundry, reorganize my desk and took the time to watch old episodes of Sex and The City. After watching Sex and the city who could not get dressed up?

A MESSAGE FOR MY READERS
I know there aren't as many pictures of myself as yet but they will be up shorty. who knew finding a photographer (aka someone to hold my camera) would be so hard. Between work and school the only time me or my sister have to spare is at night and lets face it the moon wouldn't bring out the best in my outfit. But bare with me i promise a more exciting and relateable blog soon.

I woke up this morning and suddenly realized my room doesn't make me feel sophisticated and chic. instead i feel childish and uninspired. So I've decided a room makeover is necessary. my current room has a zebra nightstand as well as carpret that i decided cant be removed (because I'm not ready to part with it). Soooo I've decided to do a black and white theme room that's classic and chic. Here are some pic of what inspired me. (look for pics of my new and improved room coming in the near future)

A TIMELESS PIECE

One of my favorite authors Eloisa James began writing romance novels inspired by old childhood fairytales (i.e Beauty and the Beast, Cindarella). She always manages to capture the essence of what made the story so timeless. Needless to say im anxiously awaiting her next novel based on the Princess and the Pea fairytale. I love that feeling of a carefree childhood where reading fairytales and watching Swan Princess were the highlights of my day. The idea of timeless pieces led me to wonder what items in my closet are timeless. heres what ive found...

1. My Marc by Marc Jacobs gold stud earrings are a fave for me because they can be thrown on with any outfit. Whether i want to look preppy and neat or edgy and fearless they always manage to adapt to my mood.

Fashion week inspiration: diane von furstenberg

Diane von Furstenbergs fall 2011 fashion collection was made for my own heart. It was hard to find a flaw in the mixture of shimmer skirt and bold feminine tops. It almost made me melancholy to know id never get to actually don one of these amazing pieces. But never the less it was breath-taking to watch. Here are some of the pieces that inspired me.

SUIT YOURSELF

As Fashion Week in NYC emerges i began to look through various designers collections and there are so many amazing fashion trends for the fall season, but i must say the menswear wear trend is a fave. With the combination of button down shirts, bold velvet colors and structured blazers I'm willing to give this trend a try. I'm at the age where I'm still searching for a fashion identity & i believe this trend suits me best (no pun intended). I strongly believe that you don't have to go over budget to mimic the types of trends found in magazines like Vogue and Elle.

an affair without end

As i was sitting in my room reading fashion blogs and ogling over so many great fashion ideas the thought struck me that i have ideas of my own. So here i am! ready to share all my fashion, decorating and suggestions for a great romance read. My passion for reading romance books until my eyes blur will soon be evident in my blog. I promise not to over stock this blog with book reviews but rather interesting ideas that stemmed from a novel i read. I'm often inspired a eclectic number of things but like any girl romance moves me. I live in NYC and it would be difficult not to be into fashion when your constantly riding the train with this months fashion "it" girl. I'm constantly reading and searching new decorating ideas and i would love to share some amazing ideas here. The name of this post and a few of my future post are named after a great book i read this summer. Just like the name my relationship with fashion and decorating is a never ending affair of the hearts <3
